Business Link Yorkshire - Winning Ways - VAT Are You Ready?
25 Feb 2010 - In partnership with Kirklees Council, Business Link Yorkshire is holding an event to help those businesses in Kirklees under five years old grow.
There are various topics that all owner managers should have knowledge of if their business is to take the step to the next level and this free event, Winning Ways, is the opportunity to gain that knowledge.
The event will include a number of presentations which will be taking place throughout the day. We urge you to attend these as it is a fantastic opportunity to hear from the experts and ask those all important questions which could be essential to the future success of your company.
The event will also include an exhibition featuring all our partners plus additional stands.
Aimed At Start up businesses and those less than five years old.
Main Points The event features a specially invited line-up of experts who will also take questions from attending delegates. There will be a chance to network afterwards over a buffet lunch.
You will also have the opportunity to visit a host of partner stands from various business support and advice agencies to answer your business questions, give advice and guidance.

There will be 45 minute seminars throughout the morning on the following topics:
VAT made simple – a representative from HMRC will explain the basics of VAT from registering for VAT, different rates of VAT, record keeping, VAT online to where to go for further help and information
Access to Finance – 'Accessing funding in today's economic climate' will be presented by Tim Foggin. He will provide a straight-talking summary of the different ways and places you might find the investment you are looking for, cutting through the sometimes confusing range of options. What are the golden rules for accessing finance during the current economic downturn? Whilst some of the principles remain unchanged, we are now operating in a very different financial landscape than a year ago, but what does this mean for you in practice?
How to grow your business – presented by a Business Link Yorkshire growth adviser
Taking on your first employee - presented by Ramsdens Solicitors.
How to do business with Kirklees Council – presented by Kirklees Council, this will be a guide to help small businesses more easily provide goods and services to the Council (£30m supplied annually by SME's) and other public bodies.
