Re-trace the footsteps of Charlotte Bront at Red House Museum, the elegant Georgian home of her friends the Taylor family. Charlotte frequently visited and described the house and its owners in her novel Shirley. A short walk across the 1830s period garden leads to ?The Secret’s Out’ gallery where you can discover more about the life of Charlotte and her friend Mary Taylor.
Red House Museum makes an ending point for the Bront Trail from Haworth and can be done as one trip with Oakwell Hall Country Park. There is plenty of parking space and a children’s playground suitable for toddlers next to the car park.
There is wheelchair access to gardens, exhibitions and Red House ground floor.
