Museum situated in the beautiful surroundings of Crow Nest Park in Dewsbury.
Housed in Crow Nest Mansion, Dewsbury Museum is the oldest of the Kirklees museums. On first appearances the imposing exterior of Dewsbury Museum may not alert you to the family friendly contents within, enter into the museum's galleries and you will experience a child's eye view of history. See and hear what's changed in the lives of children over the last century in the 'Growing Up in Dewsbury' exhibition. Take a trip back to school and to war-torn Britain as you gaze through the windows of the 1940's classroom. Visit the 'Toys will be Toys' gallery to meet Sam the Squirrel and discover the role of toys and play. With a busy programme of temporary exhibitions and events, Dewsbury Museum is for anyone who's ever been a child.
