Batley Christmas Lights Switch On

Batley Christmas Lights Switch on this year was a festival of song, dance and laughter with entertainment from Sarah Taylor School of Dance, Kirklees Music School, the Savation Army Band and Bonzo the clown to name but a few of the acts!

The lights were switched on by local floral impressario Carl Wilde who was assisted by The Mayor of Kirklees, Councillor Donald Firth and Emmerdale Star Verity Rushworth.

Prior to the event local solicitors, Brearley ran a competiton for schoolchidren in Batley to design a calendar for 2007. The winner of the competition was whisked off to lapland for a special trip to meet Santa! Allof the finalists in the competition have had their pictures framed and they are no on display in the art gallery in The Redbrick Mill - go along and have a look!
