Making Batley Greener

With saving the planet being this year's top New Year's Resolution and reducing carbon emissions the year's buzz phrase, it's time to give local climate champions their due.

The Batley News are looking for people in the town who are doing more than their fair share to get involved in, and promote, greener and more sustainable ways of living.

This doesn't have to mean you live in the woods on a diet of berries and fungus, but that you care passionately about the planet and feel you have something to say or share with the community to help others to get involved too.

Over the coming months the News plans to feature people who have made changes in their lives for the good of the environment and who have a few hints and tips for the rest of us.

Whether you have designed your own eco house, sold your car to reduce your carbon footprint, set up a recycling scheme at your child's school, been involved in a tree planting day, or grow all your own vegetables, we want to hear from you.
