‘Flames and Fountains' comes to town on 13th February 2008, and like Huddersfield's Festival of Light, features unusual and spectacular performances from the best of European street artists "La Salamandre". Their show ‘Passage' will wind its way through the town centre before reaching a dramatic and watery climax in front of the Town Hall, when British performers Avanti Display take over, turning this great building into a huge fountain, complete with human statues and fabulous fireworks.

Our local businesses are enthusiastically supporting this event with Boots the Chemist, La Senza and Argos in Princess of Wales Precinct, Kirkwood Hospice in Corporation Street and Card World in Foundry Street all staying open late especially for the event - Boots are running their own competition and handing our free goody bags to all customers too!
