Tidy Trader 2007

Once again it's the time of year in which we encourage businesses to be Tidy Traders. This fun, light hearted competition aims to give Batley and Dewsbury a cleaner more cared-for feel. For you the traders, it offers the opportunity to receive publicity and positive feedback for the things you do as a matter of course in running your business.

The competition assesses businesses in terms of tidiness, smartness and this year we are focusing on ease of access for those who may need assistance getting around your premises, and also energy conservation and recycling.

If you are a business that sells/provides food as part of its operation (hotels, pubs, cafes, restaurants etc) we are also promoting application for the Kirklees Healthy Choice Award which recognises high standards of food hygiene and a healthy options menu. The judges will be out and about in both Batley and Dewsbury throughout August and September paying extra attention to cleanliness consistency and overall appeal to the consumer.

In October, we will hold a business networking party to say thanks to all traders who took part and helped to keep the towns looking attractive this year. The announcement of winners and presentation of prizes will be followed by food and drink and light entertainment giving you the opportunity to network with fellow businesses in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The venue for this event will be confirmed nearer the time.
