Batley Town Centre Planting

Once again we have been hard at work promoting 'In Bloom' for local businesses in the town by encouraging them to buy hanging baskets to make the town look attractive this summer.

We have achieved a subsidy for each basket from Batley Area Committee which enables us to keep the price down again each year.

The tubs and planters which we purchased last year are now replanted for the summer and are creating a colourful display in the town centre.

Extra funding from the "Brighter Boroughs Initiative" enabled us to purchase one more three tier planter for the town centre in 2007.

In 2008, Kirklees Culture & Leisure Services are revamping the planting schemes of the town, and we have also received extra funding from the Clearer Greener Safer Fund and Batley Area Committee.
