Summer Gardens Competition in Batley

The 2007 summer garden competition was won by 11 year old Reece Stansfield who spent all of his spare time redesigning his parents garden. The judges agreed that Reece had done a wonderful job and certainly set a good example to other children to get involved in gardening.

For summer 2008, Reece has plans to start work on the back garden of his parents home to create a vegetable patch.

The competition this year includes categories in which local businesses, hotels, pubs, restaurants, places of worship and allotment holders can achieve credit for wonderful displays.
