Earlsheaton Technical College

Local College works hard to improve their school grounds and for Dewsbury In Bloom.

In September 2002 Jarvis handed over the quadrangle having, in their words, landscaped it. At the same time the first practical studies group evolved.

The group decided to develop the quadrangle into an area which could be used by all pupils in the school. The pupils designed the areas, calculated hard landscape materials and drew planting diagrams. In the beginning of 2003 they began the practical development, results can be seen in the photographs. In September 2003 a second group designed then built the decking area and constructed the 'leek trench'.

The present projects are the construction of raised beds for growing organic vegetables and at the front of the school a fourteen foot diameter flowerbed depicting the Dewsbury coat of arms for the Dewsbury in Bloom competition.

Replacing the lettering on the seat in The Statues Garden.

The students from Earlsheaton Technical College have repainted the missing letters on the seat which sits in The Statues Garden on the ring road in Dewsbury. It now says DEWSBURY once again!

The In Bloom Team wishes to extend A BIG THANK YOU to the school for this community spirited contribution towards a vibrant Dewsbury In Bloom.
